Una mirada creativa hacia el patrimonio inmaterial de Navarra
La obra aquí reflejada es subjetiva y personal. Es una mirada desde el siglo XXI hacia el patrimonio inmaterial de un territorio. Sin ataduras ni condicionantes. Con la exaltación de la belleza y la contemplación del detalle como punto de referencia. El respeto es máximo, hemos fotografiado esencias, vidas dedicadas, herencias ancestrales. Parar, observar e inmortalizar. Una foto, un momento, un instante que pueda ser disfrutado y revisado. Paramos para gozar. No hay mucho más allá, y en el fondo, tanto. Para materializar lo intangible –aquello que pasa en momentos concretos y muy localizados– y perpetuar su condición de legado universal, hay que pasar por complicidades. Desde el Servicio de Patrimonio Inmaterial de Navarra y la Institución Príncipe de Viana hasta la colaboración de cada agrupación, concejo, ayuntamiento o persona que cuida y ama la herencia viva. Personas concretas cuya dedicación voluntaria y libre hace que podamos disfrutar y gozar de cada ámbito y representación. Navarra Inmaterial es un pequeño homenaje a cada segundo dedicado por su parte. A ese especial barniz que le da cada mano y mirada propia, que moderniza e imprime de aire fresco el legado recibido sin perder su esencia.De generación en generación, los seres humanos perpetuamos tradiciones, ritos, costumbres, folclore o danzas. Dicha reincidencia lo convierte en patrimonio para todas las personas. Algunos ya olvidados y otros resurgidos. Ahora miramos a nuestro tiempo con la expectativa de mostrarlo y conservarlo con la creencia de que poniendo en primer término nuestra cultura generamos sinergias y convivencia. Muchos son los estudios y publicaciones del patrimonio en todas sus versiones científicas, sociológicas o etnográficas. Basadas principalmente en la salvaguarda y catalogación. La propuesta de Navarra Inmaterial apunta en otra dirección: es creativa y onírica, una ensoñación, la parte por el todo. Donde lo artístico es el filtro, el patrimonio forma el contenido y el resultado es una obra en toda su magnitud. Bienvenidos a un viaje de momentos, instantes que de alguna manera perviven en el imaginario colectivo. Este es nuestro imaginario de la Navarra Inmaterial. Y aquí lo compartimos.

Immateriala material bihurtzea
Begirada kreatiboa Nafarroako ondare immaterialari
Hemen islatzen den lana subjektiboa eta pertsonala da. XXI. mendetik so egiten zaio lurraldeetako ondare immaterialari. Loturarik eta baldintzatzailerik gabe. Edertasuna goraipatzea eta xehetasunak behatzea erreferentzia hartuta. Errespetua albait handiena da, esentzien, eskainitako bizitzen, antzinako herentzien argazkiak egin ditugu. Gelditu, behatu eta betikotu. Argazki bat, momentu bat, goza eta berrikus daitekeen une bat. Gozatzeko gelditzen gara. Hori baino gutxi gehiago eta, aldi berean, hainbeste. Ukiezina –une oso jakin eta konkretuetan gertatzen dena– material bihurtzea eta duen ondare unibertsal izaera betikotzeko konplizitatea beharrezkoa da. Nafarroako Ondare Immaterialaren Zerbitzutik eta Vianako Printzea Erakundetik hasita herentzia bizia zaindu eta maite duten talde, kontzeju, udal edo pertsona guztien kolaboraziora. Haien borondatezko eskaintza askeari esker arlo eta errepresentazio bakoitzarekin gozatzeko aukera ematen diguten pertsona horiek. Nafarroa Immateriala haiek guztiek eskaini duten segundo bakoitzarentzako omenaldi txikia da. Haietako bakoitzaren esku eta begiradek ematen dioten berniz berezia, jasotako ondarearen esentzia mantendu eta, aldi berean, modernizatu eta berriztatzen dutena. Belaunaldiz belaunaldi, gizakiok tradizioak, errituak, ohiturak, folklorea eta dantzak betikotzen ditugu. Errepikatze horrek pertsona guztiontzako ondare bihurtzen ditu. Batzuk ahaztu dira jada eta beste batzuk berpiztu. Orain bizi dugun garai hau erakutsi eta kontserbatzeko itxaropena dugu, gure kultura lehenetsiz sinergiak eta bizikidetza sortzen ditugulakoan. Ondareari buruzko azterlan eta argitalpen mordoa dago haren bertsio zientifiko, soziologiko eta etnografiko guztietan. Zaintzan eta katalogazioan oinarritzen dira gehien bat. Nafarroa Immateriala proposamenak beste norabide bat du: kreatiboa eta onirikoa da, ametsa, zatia osotasuna bailitzan. Artistikoa iragazkia denean, ondarea edukia da eta emaitza erabateko obra. Ongi etorri momentuen bidaia batera, iruditeria kolektiboan nolabait bizirik dirauten uneetarakoa. Hori da Nafarroa Immaterialari buruzko gure iruditeria. Eta hemen partekatzen dugu.

Materialising the intangible
A creative lookat the intangible cultural heritage of Navarre
The work reflected here is subjective and personal. It is a look from the 21st century into the intangible cultural heritage of a land, without ties or restraints, and using the exaltation of beauty and the contemplation of detail as a reference point. With the utmost respect we photographed essences, dedicated lives, ancestral heritages. Stop, observe, and immortalise. One photograph, one moment, one instant to be enjoyed and reviewed.We stop to enjoy. There isn’t much more but deep down, there’s so much. Materialising the intangible –that which happens at specific and very localised moments– and perpetuating its universal legacy standing requires certain alliances that range from the Intangible Heritage Service of Navarre and the Príncipe de Viana Institution to the collaboration of each group, council, town hall, or individual that care for and love the living heritage. Special people whose voluntary and open dedication allows us to enjoy each field and representation. Intangible Navarre is a small tribute to each minute they have invested; to that special varnish delivered by each hand and personal look that modernises and provides fresh air to the legacy received without tarnishing its essence. Throughout the generations, humans perpetuate traditions, rites, costumes, folklore, or dance. Such recurrence turns that into heritage for all. Partly forgotten, partly re-emerged. We now look at our time with the hope of showing it and preserving it, with the belief that by bringing our culture to the forefront we create synergy and understanding. There are many studies and publications on heritage in all its scientific, sociological, or ethnographic versions, mainly oriented to safeguarding and cataloguing. Intangible Navarre’s proposal points in a different direction: it is both creative and oneiric, a reverie, the part for the whole. Where art is the filter, heritage makes up the content, and the result is a composition in all its magnitude.Welcome to a journey of moments, of instants that somehow endure in the collective imagination. This is our imagination for Intangible Navarre. And here we share it.

“El día del Obispillo es un día muy importante en Burgui, vamos de casa en casa bendiciendo las casas y nos dan dinero y comidas”.

En catedrales y abadías europeas los monaguillos y niños de los coros ocupaban los asientos de los canónigos y en tono jocoso elegían a un obispillo al que coronaban. Los menores, elegidos por sorteo entre los 9 y 14 años, hacían canciones y bromas. Con atuendos episcopales en una comitiva que recorre el pueblo, cantando de casa en casa, y solicitando dinero o comida para hacer una celebración.

En el paso del siglo XX al XXI la fiesta del obispo de Burgui ha experimentado cambios debido sobre todo al descenso de la población. A este hecho cabe atribuir la incorporación a la comitiva de las niñas y de todos los menores en edad escolar. Este rito prenavideño continúa uniendo a los habitantes de esta localidad pirenaica en torno.

“Gotzaintxo eguna oso egun garrantzitsua da Burgin. Etxez etxe joaten gara etxeak bedeinkatzera, eta dirua eta janaria ematen digute haur guztioi”.

Europako katedral eta abadietan meza-laguntzaileek eta abesbatzetako haurrek kalonjeen eserlekuak hartzen zituzten, eta txantxatan gotzaintxo bat aukeratu eta koroatzen zuten. Adingabeak 9 eta 14 urtekoen artean aukeratzen ziren zozketaz, eta abestiak eta txantxak egiten zituzten. Gotzain-jantziak jantzita herrian barna ibiltzen den segizio batean, etxez etxe abestu eta dirua edo janaria eskatzen dute ospakizun bat egiteko.

XX. mendetik XXI.era Burgiko gotzaintxoaren festa aldatu egin da, batez ere biztanleriaren murrizketaren ondorioz. Horrez gain, aipatu beharra dago segizioan eskola-adina duten neskak eta adingabe guztiak sartzen direla, baita txikienak ere. Gabonen aurretik egiten den erritu honek Pirinioetako herri honetako herritar guztiak haurren inguruan batzen jarraitzen du.

“Boy Bishop Day is a particularly important day in Burgui. We go blessing the houses one by one, and all the children get money and food.”

In European cathedrals and abbeys, altar boys and choirboys would take the clergymen seats and would jokingly elect and crown a boy bishop. The boys, picked in a draw among kids between nine and fourteen years old, would make up songs and jokes. They wear vestments and go around town with an entourage, singing from house to house, and asking for money or food for a celebration.

Burgui’s bishop festivities have seen changes in the 21st century mostly due to the population’s decline. Now, girls and all school-age children, even the youngest ones, are included in the entourage. This pre-Christmas rite continues to bring together the residents of this Pyrenean town around the children.
